Hi Guido. Before we get started, let us introduce ourselves. First we have Smokey, a gray 11-year cat who lives with M. Darcy. Next is Priscilla, but you can also call her Priss or Prissy. She is a very beautiful, longhaired, mostly white calico who lives with Daria. Eddie lives with Priss and Daria; he is a skinny black cat. Thanks for talking to us. All of us are fans of The Amazing Race and I just have to say that you are very popular with the Tarflies, as our owners like to call themselves, and also we pets.

First some background on you.

How would you describe yourself?
A very suave and debonair, ladies dog.

How did you adopt Bill and Joe?
They looked lonely and I wanted out of Washington State. Who wouldn't want to go on an adventure!

You do like cats, don't you?
Ummm. I don't know if I should answer that one. I was attacked about a month ago, by two feral cats. I have some really good kitty friends, but these two mauled me and I had to go to the doc and get sewn up. I am OK now, but it was a close call. Lucky for me I have a mom who always watches me very closely….maybe a little too close sometimes!

What is a typical day like for you?
I go out early in the morning and do my doggie business…is this too graphic? Then I go back in to the upstairs office and sleep till noon. When mommie is finished answering emails and notices me, we go for a nice long walk across the golf course to the beach. I love the beach! There we play with my favorite soccer ball for hours on end. I get full of sand and just lounge around. Then we have to go home. Mommie has to get dinner ready for Daddy! What a creep, I get jealous sometimes, Mommie and I have such a great time, and then he comes home! Sigh!

Do you have any other favorite TV shows besides TAR?
I love the Animal Channel, with Ron Reagan, (He is looking scary though isn't he!) and I also like anything with birds on it!
I love the green grass at home, and I hate the snow in Utah, where Mommie and Daddy ski in the winter. Ugh, have you ever peed on cold snow? No, I prefer grass and southern California!
You seem to travel a lot with Bill and Joe. Do you have a favorite place to visit?
I love to go anywhere they go! I have a special bag I travel in, and they take me in the plane, car…whatever means of travel they are on. I really prefer to stay home, but they go, and so do I! I love the green grass at home, and I hate the snow in Utah, where Mommie and Daddy ski in the winter. Ugh, have you ever peed on cold snow? No, I prefer grass and southern California!

What is your favorite toy?
My soccer ball! I played soccer last week in Cincinnati with Ethan from Survivor Africa! He couldn't get the ball away from me! HAH!

Do you protect the house for Bill and Joe?
No, my shrink told me my job was just to entertain Mommie and Daddy.

Do you have a favorite place to sleep?
Anywhere Mommie and Daddy are near. I have beds wherever they are. One in the office, one by the TV, and one next to the bed in the bedroom.

And, now about The Amazing Race.

Where did you spend the month that they were away?
My aunt Mary took very good care of me! I almost tried to hide when they came to get me. My aunt Mary has a wonderful home and two doggie cousins to play with. A groomer comes to the house once a week, and I get to go with my cousins. It's like a day at the spa. When the time was up I tried to hide behind my Aunt Mary and tell her I preferred the good life, rather than the bright lights of showbiz, she put my coat on and pushed me out the door with them. Now whenever I see my Aunt Mary, I sob, and long for the cushy days when Mommie and Daddy were racing around the world.

Did you watch the show with them?
Yes, I watched myself also; remember I was on the show. We went to a restaurant here in Laguna each week to watch the show. Don't tell them, I usually slept through the show. The best part for me was dinner!

If you did, was it strange being in same room with them and having them also on TV?
No! They are the same on TV as off.

Was it hard watching them being portrayed as the villains?
No, They are villains, except when they are feeding me! Then they can do no wrong!

After redoing the audition tape for them and getting them on the show, your life and theirs has changed. If you had to do it over, would you just let them send it their own tape?
No, I am so glad I re-worked the tape. I love my aunt Mary, and someday, I will figure out how to get back to her house!
Being famous is great, especially the part where people want to pet me, I just sit there and play hard to get, and then Daddy says,"give him some food", and then it's payday!
How do you like being famous? Or did you like it better when it was just the three of you?
Being famous is great, especially the part where people want to pet me, I just sit there and play hard to get, and then Daddy says,"give him some food", and then it's payday!

Of all the other racers that you have met, do you have a favorite?
No other racers have dogs that I have met, do you know of any?

What was your favorite animal on TAR, and why?
I liked the Albino Giraffe in Africa. I think it would be cool to go for a ride on his back!

What would be your favorite task from TAR, if they allowed dogs to compete?
I really would like to do anything that has to do with eating! :>)

How would you have helped Bill and Joe if you'd been allowed on the race with them?
I would tell them to spend less time grooming and more time racing! They are always trying to wash me! I hate it!

The Book

Did you help with the writing of the book?
Yes, but I ended up on the editing floor!

Are you mentioned in the book a lot?
Not enough, they never give me enough credit for all I did for them, if it weren't for me they never would have been on that show!

Are you going to go on the book tour?
Yes, and I am always the most popular part of the Team at every signing! Any other questions, because my masseuse is here! It was fun typing at you!
