Wheeew! What a fun, exciting ride it was. I kinda had a hunch that it was going to be a non-elimination leg, so I guess I wasn't too worried about it. I found this week's episode especially fun to watch since, for the first time, Rob & Amber were shocked that they weren't in the lead . . . it's about time! Uchenna & Joyce ran this leg flawlessly. As the Race goes on, they get better and better at it. They also had some nice words for Meredith & Gretchen, which gave them points in my book. Of course, whatever Meredith & Gretchen do at this point of the Race is just icing on the cake. Ron & Kelly . . . well, I don't think there are going to be any wedding bells ringing any time soon, but I do hope these two realize now that Rob & Amber will do ANYTHING they have to to win.
Uchenna & Joyce: These two are running the Race like champs now. Wow, it is a long way from the episode in which Joyce couldn't get a taxi or had trouble shining people's shoes! They have had such a positive attitude throughout the Race, and I really think it is helping them. Their attitude and navigational skills just seem to improve with every step they take. When they said Gretchen & Meredith are good people, all I wanted was for them to be in the front of the pack! How great was it that they got on a plane that arrived two hours earlier? Oh MAN, I was beside myself! They are doing excellently and are on a roll! Keep it up.
Meredith & Gretchen: WOW! These two have just amazed me all along the way. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that they could not find that clue. Every time I see something like that, I just think it's over for them; they are delirious. When Gretchen had to do the climb and descend, I was squirming a bit, because I thought Rob was going to catch up and pass her right by! I thought she was a real trooper and very brave to do all that climbing and then go down the side of the castle . . . Meredith should have done it. I am so glad they were up there in the lead, as well. They really are great and have held up well. I keep crossing my fingers and hoping that they will pull it off! One thing that bugs the heck out of me, though, is Gretchen's constant yapping. Sheesh, it has kinda rubbed me the wrong way lately . . . LOL . . . but I guess she deserves to talk all she wants after everything she's been through.
Rob & Amber: Well, it is about time that they had a little bit of a shock to their system and a chance to feel the fear. Making fun of all the other teams and how they have no idea what the heck is going on and asking Gretchen about the earlier flight and just playing head games and blah blah blah, while he is the one who doesn't have a clue and is on a later flight! Maybe he should have looked a little more! I was so glad to see that as it unfolded. I must say, though, they hustled once they found out they weren't the lead team. They did everything they could to hide from and extend their lead over Ron & Kelly. So I have to give them credit-when they are in jeopardy, they put the pedal to the metal!
Ron & Kelly: Hmmmm. Well, I had a feeling that this was going to be a non-elimination leg, so I wasn't too worried. I just think their arguing and fighting is pointless. Jeez, Kelly's comment about Ron getting out of his "commitment" with the army by becoming a P.O.W.? HUH? That really made her look bitchy and mean. These two have to focus more on the Race, stop arguing, and just hustle. If Rob & Amber have the best luck in the Race, these two have the worst . . . and I hope they've figured out the whole Rob & Amber alliance thingy. I was feeling for them, and I am glad they won the grand Travelocity prize! ($20,000 and a four-star Pit Stop! Maybe its a 36-hour stop?) I thought it was cute when, later in the taxi, they both said, "I'm not mad at you," and kissed and made up . . . awwwww. But I still think they should wait before booking the wedding hall.
Well, I guess this week's episode should be exciting, because it's definitely got to be an elimination, don'tcha think? WOW, it's getting close to the end. I would love to see another close call with Rob & Amber in the end. Who knows? I guess I will have to wait 'till Tuesday . . .
