I Ching — Episode Six

Hey, this new method is more accurate and more fun! More fun for me at least — and you’re either reading this or you’re not. (Okay, if you just read that, you’re reading this.) So I will continue to note who will have an easy time of it and who may make mistakes. As always, the question is “how did this team experience this leg of the race?”

Aaron & Hayden

Hexagram: 44 Meeting.
Quoting from the I Ching: “The woman is strong. Do not marry the woman.” Well! Sexist much, I Ching?
Quoting from the I Ching: “The woman is strong. Do not marry the woman.” Well! Sexist much, I Ching? Interpretation: Hayden’s gonna be more than a little pissy on this leg. And Aaron needs to be careful. She should take the Roadblock, that’s for sure.

Experience in this leg: It will be the Hayden show this week. With bickering, maybe?

Adam & Rebecca

Hexagram: 60 Discipline.

No, Mommy does not show up to reprimand Adam for losing his sunglasses. Rather, Adam and Rebecca need to pull together to remain viable, and they will.
They’re learning how to race together, and that involves balance.

Experience: They’ll cooperate with each other, at least on this leg, and it will pay off.

Freddy & Kendra

Hexagram: 46 Rising.
They are not supposed to worry, however, so either Kendra’s problem from the previews is temporary and the leg is ultimately successful, or they have a good time in Sequesterville.
She flies through the air with the greatest of ease — or maybe not. This reading seems to reflect the task that fells Kendra. Trees grow (hey, it’s the analogy in the book) and rise, but I might add that they don’t go anywhere except in The Lord of the Rings. And there’s nothing in the reading that indicates progress. They are not supposed to worry, however, so either Kendra’s problem from the previews is temporary and the leg is ultimately successful, or they have a good time in Sequesterville.

Experience: No long-term problems, although that has nothing to do with placement.

Gus & Hera

Hexagram: 52 Mountain.

They don’t move, but that doesn’t mean they don’t continue. It means they’ve got their racing legs and are starting to stabilize, disagreements notwithstanding.
This reading connotes peacefulness and being in the appropriate place. Granted, that could be Sequesterville.

Experience: This could be a strong leg for them, or they could just be at peace with the outcome.

Ick & Victoria

Hexagram: 50 The Cauldron.

“The function of the cauldron is to change things.” I certainly hope so! If they change their dynamic (please!), they’ll succeed. If they don’t, they’ll fail. This reading is “not automatically very auspicious.” Inauspicious would be a happy outcome, indeed.

Experience: Does anyone really think these two will change? Me neither.

Kris & Jon

Hexagram: 9 Small Development.

In the last episode, they said they weren’t forming alliances. This week, they need to be close to people, and it may not be enough to be close to each other. If they find an opportunity to ally with a compatible team, it will help them. Regardless, they need to be flexible.

Experience: It’s good to have friends.

Lori & Bolo

Hexagram: 1 The Creative.

Hey, Lori and Bolo are gonna have a great leg. That doesn’t mean they’ll come in first, though they might. But they’re going to be as happy and good-natured as they’re capable of being. They need to be creative to get the full benefit of the opportunities in this leg.

Experience: Think outside the box and have fun, kids.

Quality of the Experience:

Aaron & HaydenShe’s in charge this week.
Adam & RebeccaConflict-free — can you believe it?
Freddy & KendraNo, she doesn’t die on us.
Gus & HeraPeacefulness could lead to strength.
Jonathan & VictoriaThey have to change. It’s unanimous.
Kris & JonMust play well with others, too.
Lori & BoloHow creative can pro rasslers be?
